Our White Christmas at Mont Tremblant

Wow, when we said we wanted a white Christmas, we didn't realise how beautiful it would be. The most spoken words after arriving were...... It's so pretty! Check this out.

Got the chance to snap some family pics.

The cheeky one of Bella and Rhys is after they got busted bouncing on the bed.

Welcome to Montreal

Kursty and I took the opportunty to go on a tour of Montreal on Sunday. It was clear which means only one thing, its really cold. We got to co pilot the bus, Jean said we could drive next time!!!

This is the basillica, it is stunning.  The stained glass windows are something else!

This is the angel for the nativity, shame I cant turn the pic!

This is the fountain, it has frozen!  There arcky pennies are some lucky pennies at the bottom and a few on the top of the ice!!!

There is some amazing roller coaster park, which I wont be going on!

This tower is from the 1976 Olympics, took them 27 years to pay for it all - listen up Anna Bligh.
(and all those who thing the Gold Coast getting the Commonwealth Games is a good thing! )

A pretty park.

City views.

See that, its frozen water, as the water melts and runs down and through the rock it then freezes overnight again and makes ice waterfalls.

The houses are so pretty.

Please Pilsbury Come to Australia

It starts out buying this in the supermarket.

and ends up like this!

You just open the can up, seperate the rolls and bake.
Then you pour the icing over them.

What a First Week

Well it has been busy but in a good way. After two sessions of looking for a place to live, we found one. It is in one of the areas that we wanted and it ticks all the boxes. So it is close to public transport, both bus and train so John has an easy run into work. In the catchment of one of the schools we were told were good, in budget plus lots more.

We have three bedrooms, sorry no guest room! Two bathrooms, yay! It is on the second floor and while we wanted a ground floor apartment or 'condo', there is a kids park right across the road, super yay, just need it to be warm enough to use. I am sure it will get lots of use.

Also included is the snow removal, never had to worry about that before. We also have a parking garage, not that we have a car yet, but we do have a under cover park for it.

It is something very different to what we are use to but we are excited aboutndoing something different.   Oh and its all furnished, that was the other difficult thing in finding a place.  Anyway I think we are set and ready to move into our new digs.

The main bedroom.  Please remember someone else is currently packing up

Living room, love the little bay window!

A room for Bella, it has a small balcony off it.

Main Bathroom

Ensuite - yep its red, just for JB!

Balcony from the kitchen, gets the morning sun I here.

Okay we did it!

Hi everyone. We arrived safe and sound and in one piece, with nothing or no one missing. See christmas is the time of miracles. There was snow on the ground when we arrived, which the kids thought was great. Driving in, they saw cars driving along with snow on them - you should have heard Hayden giggle!

The first day had us up and ready to try out the breakfast. Wooh there is a waffle maker where you can make your own waffles. Guess what the kids hated them even with the whipped cream. Good thing we remembered our mega bucket of Vegemite.

Rugged up the little oompa loompas And went out to get some supplies.

So the stats, cause we all know I like data.
18ooo Klms of air travel,
4 planes,
2 hotels,
1 bus,
2 mini vans,
1 limo and a taxi for John.
3 small children with jet lag starting to kick in.

A Quiet Reflection...(the calm before the storm)

I sit here early morning, watching the light creep over the hills, wondering what today brings.   While secretly hopping someone willl get up and put the coffee on.

Yesterday I felt uneasy.  For no particular reason, just a little unsure.  While I don't doubt what we are doing, it was the first feeling of unknown.  AND I DONT KNOW WHY!  I think this is what it puzzling me the most.  Heck, most of it is organised (apart from somewhere to live), maybe we just need to go.

But until then I wait and watch the dawn, and make my own coffee ;-)

Well my bags are packed and I'm read to go...

I'm standing here outside your door....

How do you pack for a year away for a whole family, in a climate so different from what you know and get it all there?  I don't know, I guess we'll find out.

so kiss me and smile for me....
